Ribbed knit is the second hero of this category. The weave with vertical ribs works in two ways: it stretches widthwise and vertically guides the eye along the silhouette. The ribbing automatically accentuates the waist, even when the dress's cut is straight – the narrowest part of the body pulls the fabric towards it, and the ribs converge naturally.

The Loungewear line includes sleeveless maxi dresses and shorter ribbed models – also in the XS to 4XL range. This is a body-hugging cut, but designed to fit well regardless of the starting point of the silhouette.

In lines with a shorter range – for example, Echo viscose midi (XS–XL) or Echo ribbed midi (up to XXL) – the fit is designed for an average silhouette. It's worth comparing your own measurements with the size chart for a given model, as the same "M" label might denote slightly different dimensions in another line.

A fitted dress loses elasticity when the elastane in the fabric is damaged by high temperatures, bleach, or a tumble dryer. Proper care involves adhering to a few rules that ensure the dress looks similar after the fiftieth wash as it did after the first.

First rule: wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle. Higher temperatures degrade elastane fibers – after several washes at 60°C, the dress no longer returns to its shape, but "hangs" in areas of greatest tension. This is the most common cause of shape loss in tight dresses.

Second rule: do not use bleach or bleaching powders. Elastane and bleach are a bad combination – the fiber becomes brittle and breaks when stretched, often invisibly, until loose areas appear in the construction.

Third rule: do not tumble dry. High drying temperatures are the quickest way to permanently stretch a dress with elastane. Fitted dresses should be dried flat or on a hanger, in the shade, away from radiators.

Low-temperature steam ironing, without dry cleaning – this is the standard protocol for viscose and cotton with elastane. Ironing at high temperatures without steam can leave shiny marks on ribbed knit fabric.
