In retail practice, crewneck, basic hoodless sweatshirt, and hoodless tracksuit sweatshirt are synonyms for the same cut. Differences only begin at the level of material and grammage.

It's worth distinguishing a hoodless sweatshirt from a "baggy" sweatshirt. Baggy means a loose, wide cut with dropped sleeves, and can come with or without a hood. It's a description of the silhouette, not the neck finish. A baggy hoodless sweatshirt is simply a loose crewneck.

Women's hoodless sweatshirts from the cotton Loungewear line are sewn in a full standard size range, up to 4XL. This is the same sizing chart used for smaller sizes – not a shortened or simplified version of the cut. Size 4XL corresponds to a bust circumference of 124–132 cm, waist of 108–116 cm, and hips of 130–138 cm.

The absence of a hood in larger sizes offers a practical, not just aesthetic, advantage. A hood adds volume exactly where the silhouette is widest – at the shoulders and neck – and visually lifts the upper body. A round neckline and rolled collar work in reverse: they open up the neckline and draw attention to the décolletage instead of the shoulders.

When choosing a plus-size sweatshirt, the starting point is the bust circumference, not the size worn from another brand – sizing charts differ between manufacturers by even a few centimeters. If the measurement falls between two sizes, for a fitted cut, choose the larger one, and for a loose cut, the smaller one. The finish of the bottom also matters: a wide ribbing embraces the hips and accentuates the waist, while a straight hem falls freely and doesn't emphasize anything.
